Founder and President of Base Point General Engineering

Born in Orange County, Nicholas Hardin spent his childhood years in awe of the construction projects taking place around him. His grandfather, Marshall Hardin; owned an electrical contracting business and every summer since he was fourteen was spent working alongside him.

In 2009 when Nicholas’s grandfather passed away, uncertain of his future, Nicholas joined the laborers union. Nicholas graduated from their state accredited 4-year apprenticeship program in just over 3 years. Those years were spent working for the 88th licensed general engineering contractor in California. It was there Nicholas gained the knowledge and engineering skillset required to construct heavy civil infrastructure.

Nicholas went on to receive two Associate of Applied Science degrees from Santiago Canyon College in Orange California. One in Construction Management, and another in Construction Inspection. Nicholas also completed the required course work for becoming a licensed real estate agent.

After graduation and in honor of his grandfather, Nicholas decided the best application of his accomplishments would be in starting a business of his own. At a young age of 29, Nicholas passed the state exam for licensure as a general engineering (A) contractor, and shortly thereafter passed the state exam for licensure as a general building (B) contractor.

In April of 2019 Base Point General Engineering was born, and in April of 2020, Base Point General Engineering began operating. In such a short time; through his consistently optimistic outlook and moral values that’s centric on putting people-first; Nicholas has built a reputation for both himself and for Base Point General Engineering as the premier up-and-coming general contractor in Orange County.
